Wolves Host Tri-Meet Against Mars Hill and Converse

NEWBERRY, SC - The Newberry Wolves Acrobatics & Tumbling team hosted a tri-meet on Wednesday, welcoming Mars Hill and Converse to Eleazer Arena. Despite a strong effort across the six events, the Wolves fell to both opponents, finishing with a team score of 165.355. Mars Hill captured the meet with 240.310, while Converse placed second with 216.85.

Newberry opened the meet in the Compulsory Event, setting the tone for the afternoon as the Wolves worked through the acro, pyramid, toss, and tumbling heats. The team continued into the Acro Event and Pyramid Event, where they showcased synchronized elements and strong execution in multiple heats while competing against the deeper lineups from both visiting programs.

The Wolves produced several of their best scores later in the meet. In the Tumbling Event, Newberry combined efforts in the duo, quad, aerial, and open passes to record a 27.675 total. The team then closed the competition in the Team Event, posting a 45.63 as the Wolves completed the meet in front of the home crowd.

Mars Hill ultimately claimed the top spot in the tri-meet, followed by Converse in second and Newberry in third.

The Wolves will look to build on the experience as they prepare to compete next on March 25th against Lander University in Eleazer Arena.
