This week's South Carolina Army National Guard Newberry College Players of the Week are sophomore guard
Rickell Brown (Sumter) and junior outfielder
Luke Compton (Boiling Springs).

Brown made 10-18 shots from the floor to lead the Wolves to a critical 69-64 South Atlantic Conference victory over Emory & Henry. In two games last week she averaged 17 points and five rebounds per game while contributing two assists, two steals and a blocked shot. Brown also made 4-of-9 3-point field goal attempts. After averaging 3.1 points per game as a freshman she leads the team with a 15.8 points per game as a sophomore.

Compton, the Wolves starting centerfielder and leadoff hitter, batted .388 to help the Wolves post a 2-2 record for the week. Compton had a run batted in for all four games to finish with five total RBI and hit his first career home run in the Wolves 11-8 victory over Barton. He went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBI in the victory. He was also 3-for-4 in stolen bases for the week and leads the team with six stolen bases and seven RBI.
