ANDERSON,SC- The Newberry College women's basketball team fought hard in their South Atlantic Conference home matchup against Anderson University, but the Trojans pulled away for a 79-52 final.
The Wolves were effective from the free-throw line shooting 60%.
Jada Brown and Nyah Vermeulen paced Newberry with a team-high 11 points each, while
Vermeulen also pulled down 12 rebounds to lead the Wolves on the glass.
Hannah Nimmo added eight points on an efficient night, while
Reghan Williams chipped in four points and two rebounds and
Ayonna Lewis contributed three points and three boards.
Ryann Hernandez also made an impact on the boards, finishing with seven rebounds.
The Wolves' record now stands at 11–11 overall and 5–10 in South Atlantic Conference play. Newberry returns home on Saturday, February 7 at 2 p.m. to host Emory & Henry.
