Wolves Fight Hard in Road Game at Anderson

ANDERSON, S.C. — The Newberry men's basketball team battled hard on the road Wednesday evening but came up short against Anderson University, falling 73-58. The Wolves now move to 10-11 overall and 6-9 in SAC play. At halftime, Newberry trailed 30-37, but the team continued to fight in the second half, keeping the game competitive.

Drake Downs led the charge for Newberry with a dominant performance, scoring 20 points, grabbing 13 rebounds, and adding a steal and a block along with an assistKayzzin McDowell also made his presence felt across the stat sheet, finishing with 11 points, 5 assists, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals, while Makhi Rivers contributed 11 points4 assists3 rebounds, and 1 steal.

Newberry's next game is Saturday, February 7th at 4:00 p.m. against Emory & Henry.
