TIGERVILLE, SC -In a road matchup at North Greenville, the Newberry College men's volleyball team dropped a 3–0 decision to the Trailblazers on Tuesday night in Tigerville, S.C., falling by set scores of 25–21, 25–23, 25–16. Despite the straight-sets loss, the Wolves competed throughout, keeping the first two sets tightly contested before North Greenville pulled away later in the match.
Newberry's offense was paced by Lucas Nieves, who recorded a team-high 6 kills, while Preston Anderson added 4 kills and Alex Arbez contributed 3. Setter Greyson Crumpton led the Wolves with 17 assists and also chipped in an ace, and Newberry finished with 1 service ace on the night. Defensively, Nieves, Ignacio Rodriguez and Crumpton each posted a block as Newberry totaled 4 team blocks, and Nieves paced the back row with 4 digs.
The Wolves next will face Erskine at home in Eleazer Arena on Thursday.
