DUE WEST, SC - The Newberry College women's tennis team battled back for a 4-3 victory over Erskine College Sunday afternoon at the Sloan-Cox Tennis Courts in Due West, S.C. After dropping the doubles point, the Wolves claimed four singles victories to secure the regional road win and improve to 4-1 on the season.

Erskine took the early advantage by winning two of three doubles matches.
At No. 1 doubles, Yui Suzuki and Renee Dorval were edged 6-4 in a competitive matchup. The No. 3 duo of Margarita Roshka and Aina Miralles also fell by a 6-4 score.
Newberry's lone doubles victory came at No. 2, where Lina Sarhan and Hazel Vernon delivered a dominant 6-1 win.Â
Singles Breakdown
The Wolves responded in singles, winning four of six courts to flip the match.
At No. 1 singles, Margarita Roshka faced a tough challenge and fell in straight sets. Yui Suzuki battled at No. 2 singles, forcing a third set before ultimately dropping a hard-fought decision.
Newberry began its surge at No. 3 singles, where Lina Sarhan rallied after losing the first set to earn a three-set victory, 4-6, 6-2, 6-3. Aina Miralles controlled play at No. 4 singles with a convincing 6-3, 6-3 win.
At No. 5 singles, Renee Dorval delivered a steady performance, earning a straight-sets 6-2, 6-3 victory. Hazel Vernon capped the effort at No. 6 singles with a strong 6-3, 6-3 win, providing the decisive fourth point for the Wolves.
With the comeback victory, Newberry showcased its depth and resilience, overcoming the early deficit to secure an important 4-3 road win. The Wolves will look to build on the momentum as they prepare for their next match on February 25th against Georgia College at the Oakland Tennis Center.
