This week's South Carolina Army National Guard Newberry College Players of the Week are senior tennis player Aina Miralles (Barcelona, Spain) and freshman pitcher Nick Reidel (Tampa, Fla.).
 
Miralles had a perfect week for the Wolves leading the team to a 2-0 record with a 5-2 win over Francis Marion and a 6-1 victory against Lander.  She paired with doubles partner Margarita Roshka to win both her doubles matches 6-3 and both of singles matches 6-1, 6-2 and 6-3, 6-4.  Miralles is 3-1 in singles and doubles play this spring and advanced to the semifinals of the ITA Southeast Regional Championship in the fall.
 
Reidel continued his early dominance allowing only one run on four hits over 5.1 innings in a 9-1 SAC victory over UVA Wise.  He tied a career-high with eight strikeouts which he achieved the previous week in a one-hit, 4-0 complete game victory at Anderson.  Reidel has a 3-0 record with a 1.27 earned run average with 24 strikeouts in 21.2 innings pitched this season.  He leads the SAC in strikeouts and is second in wins and fourth in earned run average.
