Saturday will conclude spring football drills for the Newberry College football team when the annual Scarlet and White kicks off at 12 noon at Setzler Field.
The event is free and open to the public.
The Wolves' coaching staff has drafted players onto each team and they will square off for four quarters with a running clock, with the exception of the final two minutes.
The White team offense will be led by returning quarterback
Reed Charpia, running back
Dwayne Wright, receiver Rico Dorsey, and center
Davion Pyles. The defense is highlighted by defensive end Johnathan Sexton, linebacker
Charles Smith and safety
Ja Stevens.
The Scarlet team offense will be led by transfer quarterback Mason Kidd, running backs
Quez Spells, receiver Keith Desassure, and guard
Christian Draper. The defense features defensive tackle
Myquan Geer, linebackers
Jalen Stradford, Ky'Heim Bethea and
Devron Williams and corner
Clarence Simmons.
Offensive coordinator Cole Watson will coach the Scarlet Team while defensive coordinator
Stephen Flynn will serve as head coach for the White Team.
The game will be broadcast on WKDK and streamed on newberrywolves.com with the Voice of the Wolves Jimmie Coggins calling all the action. Â
