Wolves Claim Dominant 23-6 Victory Over Coker

HARTSVILLE, SC – Newberry College delivered a dominant performance, securing a decisive 23-6 victory over Coker. The Wolves controlled the tempo from the opening whistle, using a well-balanced offensive attack and a stout defensive effort to stifle their opponents.

The Wolves wasted no time asserting their dominance, jumping out to a commanding lead with 10 goals in the first half while holding the Cobras to just four. By halftime, Newberry led 8-4, setting the stage for an explosive second half. Nicole DiNapoli ignited the scoring with a perfectly placed shot off a slick assist from Lana Howell. From there, the floodgates opened, with Riley Dunchon capitalizing on an opportunity, followed by another strike from DiNapoli, this time off a setup from Kelie Saylors. Scythe Shephard and Morgan Parsons kept the momentum rolling before Amelia Hawkes added her name to the scoresheet with an assist from Dunchon. Serena Elias fired one past the defense, and Emma Jobs buried a goal off a crisp pass from Trysten Burns. Jobs wasn't done yet, tallying another before Elias closed out the quarter in style, ensuring the Wolves carried all the momentum into the second half.

Newberry maintained control throughout the game, finishing with a nearly flawless 17-of-19 on clears while dominating in ground balls (23) and draw controls (23). Lana Howell led the charge in draw controls with an outstanding six.
In the final two periods, the Wolves capitalized on their strong first-half performance, scoring an additional 13 points compared to the Cobras' two. Amelia Hawkes, Olivia Travassos, and Finley Barten each added their names to the scoresheet with a goal, further cementing Newberry's overwhelming victory.

Newberry's record now stands at 8-4 overall and 5-2 in SAC play. The Wolves will return home this Saturday to compete against Lenoir-Rhyne in a 1 PM matchup.
