NEWBERRY, SC — Powered by clutch hitting and resilient pitching, the Newberry College Wolves outlasted Anderson University 8–5 on Friday night at Smith Road Complex, securing a key South Atlantic Conference victory.
Newberry plated runs in five different innings, including a huge two-run eighth that gave them breathing room. The Wolves' offense was led by center fielder Kade Faircloth, who delivered a 1-for-2 performance with three RBIs, two walks, and two stolen bases. Jonathan Velez added two hits, including a double and a triple, while Luke Compton reached base four times and swiped a bag.
