Drew Robinson scored 25 points, grabbed five rebounds and dished out three assists to lead the Newberry College Wolves (13-14, 10-13) to a critical 78-73 victory over Anderson in the home finale.
 The win kept the Wolves in a tie with Wingate for the eighth and final South Atlantic Conference Tournament berth with one game remaining in the regular season. Both teams trail Anderson by one game for seventh place.
The top eight teams advance to the South Atlantic Conference Postseason Tournament in Rock Hill beginning March 4.
James Lovorn added 18 points, three assists, three rebounds and two steals and
Devario Sheppard chipped in with 10 points, six rebounds and two assists.
Malakhi Stremlow added 10 rebounds and nine points.
The Wolves survived a first half in which they did not make a 2-point shot from the floor until there were just 59 seconds remaining.
But Lovorn's 3-point basket, with 18 seconds left cut the Trojan lead to 30-27 at the half.
Newberry trailed by as many as 11 in the first half and eight in the second half before grabbing its first lead of the game 54-53 on a basket by with 5:52 left in the game on a jumper by Sheppard.
After three ties and a lead change, the Wolves took the lead for good on a 3-point basket by Robinson with 3:46 remaining to give Newberry a 62-59 lead.
The Wolves built the lead to as many as 11, 70-59 with 1:10 left and knocked down their final eight free throws to seal the victory.
Newberry made 11 of 23 3-point shot attempts and 23 of 29 free throws.
The Wolves close out the regular season on Saturday afternoon at Lenoir-Rhyne.
