NEWBERRY, SC- Newberry put up a valiant effort at Eleazer Arena but ultimately fell to the Pioneers of Tusculum 73-51. Despite the loss, the Wolves had several bright spots, especially on the defensive end, where they recorded an impressive seven blocks.
Leading the charge for Newberry was
Jess Tomkins, who delivered a strong all-around performance with 10 points, 11 rebounds, and six blocks, asserting her presence on both ends of the floor.
Marykate Kent also made an impact, contributing 10 points, including two three-pointers, and a perfect 4-for-4 from the free-throw line.
Off the bench, Caylin Moment provided a spark with seven points, while Lauren Livingston helped facilitate the offense with a team-high three assists. The Wolves found success in the paint, scoring 22 points inside.
The Wolves (6-20, 5-15 SAC) will play their final home game of the season on
February 26 against the Trojans of Anderson at 5:30 PM.
