NEWBERRY, SC – Newberry put together a powerful offensive display, racking up 13 hits and scoring in four different innings to take down Augusta 10-5 at the Smith Rd. Complex. Jesse Free and Cooper Gentry led the Wolves at the plate, while Jacob Clark and the bullpen kept Augusta's bats in check late in the game.

Free went 4-for-5 with one RBI, including a key hit in the fifth inning.

Gentry collected three hits, going perfect from the plate and locking down on the field.

Newberry broke the game open with a four-run fourth inning, extending their lead to 7-1.

Clark earned the win for the Wolves, throwing five innings while allowing just one run on four hits with six strikeouts.

Wyatt Carey pitched some very efficient late game innings, allowing no hits with three strikeouts in two innings.

With the victory, Newberry improves to 8-3 on the season and will look to keep their momentum going in the next matchup against SAC leading Carson-Newman in a three-game series on Friday and Saturday.
