NEWBERRY, SC - The Newberry College women's tennis team put up a fierce fight against Erskine College at the Oakland Tennis Center but came up just short in a tightly contested 3-4 loss.

The Wolves got off to a competitive start in doubles play, securing one of the three matches. The duo of Emma Arnal and Renee Dorval showcased their resilience, clinching a hard-fought 7-6 (8/6 tiebreaker) victory to give Newberry momentum heading into singles action.

In singles play, Newberry claimed three impressive victories but ultimately fell just shy of the team win. Arnal displayed grit battling through a hard fought three-set match to take a 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 victory. Margarita Roshka followed with a strong performance, sealing a straight-set win 6-4, 7-5. Dorval was dominant in her singles match, cruising to a 6-2, 6-2 victory.

The Wolves will be on the road next on February 5th at 2pm against Georgia College in Milledgeville, GA.
