This week's South Carolina Army National Guard Newberry College Players of the Week are sophomore sprinter
Kamryn Adderton (North Myrtle Beach) and junior linebacker
Devron Williams (Strom Thurmond).
Adderton posted one of the top finishes for Newberry with a 5th-place performance in the 400-meter dash (1:01.09), while also running 26.82 in the 200-meter dash to open the 2025-26 indoor season at the JDL Fast Track Early Bird Invitational. Adderton qualified for the SAC outdoor championships in the 400-meter dash and ran the anchor on the Wolves 4 x 400-meter relay at the same meet.
Williams made one of the most critical plays in Saturday's 31-24 NCAA quarterfinal playoff victory at Albany State when he blocked a field goal attempt and returned it 67 yards for a touchdown on the final play of the first half to give the Wolves a 24-21 halftime lead. He also had six total tackles including one for a loss from his linebacker position as Newberry allowed only three points over the final three quarters enroute to a spot in the national semifinals.
