HARROGATE, TN – The Newberry College men's soccer team came up just short on the road, falling 1-0 to Lincoln Memorial University on Saturday evening.

The Wolves (5-2-2, 1-2-2 SAC) battled through a match that saw not many offensive chances on both sides. The Railsplitters struck for the game's lone goal in the 25th minute, a score that held the rest of the way.

Newberry managed eight total shots, including three on net, from Josh Momodu, Alex Lopez, and George Rathmill. In goal, Charlie Clark turned away two shots while playing the full 90 minutes.

Despite the narrow defeat, the Wolves' back line held firm against 13 LMU attempts and limited the Railsplitters to just three shots on target.

The Wolves will look to rebound as South Atlantic Conference play continues next week when they face Coker University on the road Wednesday afternoon at 4:30pm.
