HARTSVILLE, SC – The Newberry College men's soccer team picked up a conference road point with a 1–1 draw at Coker on Wednesday evening. Denys Bekhvandi put the Wolves in front in the 21st minute, before the Cobras equalized on a penalty in the 52nd.
Goalkeeper Charlie Clark was outstanding, posting seven saves (six after halftime) to preserve the game. Newberry's defense absorbed pressure as Coker held an 18–9 edge in shots (8–2 on goal) and a 6–4 advantage in corners.
With the draw, the Wolves move to 5-2-3 overall and 1-2-3 in SAC play. They will face off against Wingate at home next Wednesday at 7pm.
