LOCATION: Aiken, SC

RECAP: The Newberry Wolves stay undefeated through the first five games of the season after a 3-1 win vs. USC Aiken. The Pacers managed to snap the Wolves scoreless streak after 433:31 of no goals against.

 

GAME HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Sarah Waller gets the start for the Wolves for the second game in a row, and records her first save in the 20'.

  • The Wolves got on the board first with a 30 yard turn and shoot strike from Becca Lipp, two minutes before the end of the first half. Assisted by Haylee Patino.

  • The second half started with a save from Aubrey Cripe in the 59'.

  • Newberry's Bella Gonzales put her third goal of the season in the back of the net off a pass from Ava Espinoza, at 68'. 2-0 Wolves.

  • The 433 minute run of no goals scored was finally broken after a USCA goal from Brooke Morrison in the 73'.

  • True Arellano-Homan found herself on the scoreboard for her first goal of the season, assisted by Kirsty Cameron, putting the Pacers down two with only nine minutes remaining.

  • The Wolves kept their undefeated streak alive, holding the USCA Pacers scoreless the rest of the game, and winning 3-1.
