GREENWOOD, IND. -   Five members of the Newberry College baseball team were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team, announced Tuesday afternoon.
 
All-District members include senior left-handed pitcher Wyatt Carey, junior outfielder Kade Faircloth, right-handed pitcher Hunter French, redshirt freshman right-handed pitcher Brayden Gilson, and senior right-handed pitcher Matias Marchesini


To qualify for the list, the student-athlete must have competed in 90% or started in 66% of games for the season and achieve a 3.5 GPA


The 2024 Academic All-District® Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field or court and in the classroom. Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in  mid June.
