NEWBERRY – The Newberry College baseball team (24-26, 18-12 SAC) will be heading to Hartsville for the South Atlantic Conference Tournament as the six seed this weekend. The Wolves will face the three seeded Bulldogs of Wingate University (27-22, 18-12 SAC). The first pitch will be at 3:00 p.m., tomorrow afternoon.

Scouting the Wolves
- The Wolves will enter the tournament as the six seed after posting an 18-12 South Atlantic Conference Record. The last time the Wolves faced the Bulldogs, Wingate swept Newberry at the Smith Rd. Complex in the conference opening series.
- The Wolves are led by first team all-SAC outfielder Donovan Ford. Ford posts a .431 batting average which is second in the South Atlantic Conference. Ford leads the SAC with 29 stolen bases on the year and 7 triples.
- The Wolves have two third team all-SAC pitchers in Hunter French and Matias Marchesini. Marchesini earned the Friday starting role as he won two SAC Pitcher of the week with two shutout performances on the year. French threw seven innings only giving up one run the last time he pitched in Hartsville.
Scouting the Bulldogs
- The Bulldogs are coming into the SAC Tournament on a five-game losing streak. The Bulldogs also have an 18-12 record as there was a four-way tie for third place in the conference.
- The Bulldogs have three first team all-SAC members including first baseman Brett Adams, second baseman Cam Harris, and outfielder Sean Barnett. Their Designated Hitter Breon Ishmael earned third team honors.
- Starting Pitcher Kelan Hoover was named second team all-SAC. Hoover threw five innings giving up two earned runs and struck out three batters in his last appearance vs. the Wolves.

The Wolves will either get the winner or loser of the Coker and Carson-Newman game depending on the result of Friday's game. The tournament is a four team double elimination bracket that will go from Friday to Sunday.
