Scouting the Wolves
  • Newberry will enter the weekend series a game below .500 as they hold a 21-22 overall record and a 15-9 record in South Atlantic Conference play. The Wolves battled but fell 13-11 in a non-conference battle with nationally ranked Mount Olive Tuesday afternoon in Florence, S.C.
  • Junior outfielder Donovan Ford leads the Wolves in the leadoff spot hitting .430 on the season. Ford jumped former teammate Braylin Marine into the number two spot in Newberry Baseball history stealing his 80th base in his career. Redshirt senior Henry Gibson has been hitting the ball around the yard as of recent. In the past two games, Gibson is 4-8 with 5RBIs with a double and a triple against Mount Olive Tuesday.
  • Senior right-hander Matias Marchesini has excelled as the Friday evening starter for the Wolves. Marchesini holds a 2-0 record with a 3.07 ERA in his 13 appearances this season.
Scouting the Railsplitters
  • The Railsplitters enter the weekend series with a 26-15 overall record and a 15-12 South Atlantic Conference record. The Railsplitters defeated the number three team in the nation in North Greenville 4-3 yesterday in Harrogate.
  • Junior infielder Carson Boles holds a conference best .474 batting average this season for LMU. Against North Greenville, Boles went 2-5 with a solo home run in the 4-3 win.
  • The Wolves will likely see sophomore right hander Christian Pencek. Pencek holds a 8-1 record with a team high 65 strikeouts on the season for the Railsplitters.
