Wolves Take Heavy Loss To The Eagles

Box Score JEFFERSON CITY, TN - Women's tennis takes early lead against the Eagles but struggles to close out, losing 3-4.

The Wolves came out swinging, earning a crucial doubles point. The senior squad of Ish Singh and Rosie Harfield started the day off taking court one with a 6-2 win. In usual fashion on court three, Aina Miralles and Sofia Cardenas secured the win and sent the Wolves into the lead with a 6-2 match. 

Singles took a slower approach, as the Wolves sacrificed an early point on court one. Cardenas immediately made up for the deficit and put the Wolves back on top with an impressive two set play. Taking the first set 6-3, Cardenas rounded out the second set with a clean sweep, earning the Wolves a valuable point. The final point of the day came from Margarita Nikonorova on court three. Delivering a 6-3 first set, Nikonorova topped off her day with a 6-2 second set, putting the Wolves up by two points.

The Wolves will now take on the conference championship tournament starting on Thursday, April 18th at Rock Hill, SC.
