NEWBERRY – The Newberry College baseball team (19-20, 13-8 SAC) will return to the Smith Rd. Complex for an eventful three-game series with the Saints of Limestone University (18-21, 9-12 SAC).
The three-game series will include a single game on Friday evening at 6:00 p.m., followed by a double header on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Saturday will be the make a wish game at the Smith Rd. Complex as the Pelicans snow cone shop will be making a trip to the ballpark along with the make a wish foundation.

Scouting The Wolves
- The Wolves will enter the weekend with a 19-20 overall record and in fifth place in the South Atlantic Conference with a 13-8 conference record. The Wolves fell in a non-conference battle with the National Collegiate Baseball Writer's Association's no. 10 ranked Trojans of Mount Olive Tuesday evening 7-4.
- Junior outfielder Donovan Ford leads the Wolves offense in the leadoff spot. Ford has a .417 batting average, 1.067 OPS, and a .564 slugging percentage. Against the Trojans, junior infielder Jesse Free went 2-2 with a two-run single in the eighth inning.
- Senior right-hander Matias Marchesini has been the Friday evening starter on the mound for the Wolves in the past few weeks. Marchesini has a 2-0 record in three starts with a team high of 28 strikeouts this season.
Scouting the Saints
- The Saints enter the weekend series with an 18-21 overall record and are in ninth place in the South Atlantic Conference standings with a 9-12 record. The Saints fell to the Bearcats of Lander Tuesday evening.
- The Saints are led by junior second baseman Sion Barnette. Barnette has a team high .363 batting average with 38 runs driven in so far this season. Against Lander, freshman third baseman Perry Dyer went 2-3 on the evening in the 6-0 loss.
- The Wolves will likely see sophomore right hander Colt Wilkins. Wilkins has a 4-3 overall record in nine starts for the Saints. In his last outing against Coker, Wilkins threw seven innings of shutout baseball and struck out three Cobras.

After the weekend series with Limestone, the Wolves will go back to Florence for a neutral site game with the Trojans of Mount Olive next Tuesday. The first pitch will be at 3:00 p.m. in CarolinaBank Field.
