GAFFNEY, S.C. - Men's tennis defeats the Limestone Saints 5-2 in a midweek battle.
Doubles play started off well for the Wolves, earning their first time point with two victories. On court #1
David Negzaoui and Josh Fritz smothered the Saints with a 6-0 set score, their first sweep as a pair this season. Lucas Mruck and
Thilo Lorenze also found themselves a pretty win, taking the set 6-1. This match was also the best performance put together by Mruk and Lorenze.
Court #1 saw
James Vincent get his first win of the day. After dropping the first set, Vincent made up for lost time, taking the second 6-4, forcing a tie-braker. In the third set, Vincent flexed his endurance, defeating his opponent 7-5. Negzaoui remained undefeated on the day. A back and forth battle, Negzaoui took both his sets 6-4, securing the win in two. Fritz's played a long three sets, securing the win in the end. Taking the first set 6-3, Fritz fell in the second 5-7. Forced into a third set, Fritz made up for his mistakes, taking the third 6-4. The last win came on court #5 from
Noel Bartz. Bartz continues his four win streak in singles after taking the first set 6-4 followed by 6-3.
The Wolves take a week break and will begin play on March 20th at Lenoir-Rhyne at 2 P.M..
