HICKORY, N.C. - Men's tennis was put to the test against the Bears, dropping the match 2-5.
The young squad was led by court #1 star
James Vincent who earned the Wolves their first point of the day. In a tight first set, Vincent found victory in 7-5. The second set went much smoother, handling his opponent 6-2.
Joshua Fritz had an even tighter first set but the same result none the less. Playing a tiebreaking set, Fritz was pushed 7-6 prior to the tie breaker. Securing his victory 7-4, Fritz got the gym done in the same court one fashion, defeating his opponent 6-2.
Still showing immense promise despite the result, the Wolves had two tight matches, coming up just shy.
Noel Bartz on court six forced his match into three, after dropping the first set 4-6, then winning the second set 6-2. In doubles play Bartz and Vincent were the closest to the Bears, dropping their match 4-6.
