SALISBURY, N.C. - Men's tennis drops their conference match up to SAC powerhouse Catawba 0-7.
The only Wolves to find a win today was the duo pairing of
David Negzaoui and
Joshua Fritz who managed to squeeze out a 7-6 set.Â
Despite the score, singles play was closer than perceived thanks to the effort of Negzaoui and Fritz. Negzaoui's match could not have been any more of a dog fight. Negzaoui took the first set 7-6 followed by the dropping the second set 6-7. The third set was not in Negzaoui's favor, coming up short 4-6. Frtiz was also forced in a third set, after taking the first 6-4. Coming up short in the third 4-6, Fritz put up a strong effort against the seasoned Indians squad.
Lucas Mruk had a strong showing despite the loss. Dropping the first set, Mruk was close to forcing a third set, falling 5-7.
The Wolves continue their play at Wingate on Wednesday, March 27th at 1 P.M.
