NEWBERRY – The Newberry College baseball team (5-14, 1-5 SAC) looks to build off of their walk off win Wednesday evening with a weekend trip to Hartsville, S.C., to take on the Cobras of Coker University (13-6, 7-2 SAC).

The weekend series, originally scheduled Friday and Saturday is now scheduled Friday and Sunday with a double header starting at 3:30 p.m., on Friday and a single nine inning game on Sunday at 3:00 p.m.
Scouting The Wolves
- Newberry looks to add on to an 8-7 walk off win against the Pacers of USC Aiken at the Smith Rd. Complex. The Wolves are holding a 5-14 overall record and a 1-5 record in the South Atlantic Conference.
- Junior centerfielder Donovan Ford had a terrific night at the dish for the Wolves Wednesday as he went 3-5 including the walk off two run infield single. Ford holds the South Atlantic Conference best 16 stolen bases and is currently two away from jumping into third place all-time as he currently has 73 career stolen bases.
- Junior right-hander Tyler Chinpire will be on the bump for the Wolves in the 3:30 contest Friday. Chinpire has pitched a combined 11 innings in his last two appearances striking out six batters and a 4.09 era in the past two starts.
- With the win on Wednesday evening, head coach Russell Triplett currently holds 397 career wins.
Scouting the Cobras.
- The Cobras of Coker University enter the weekend series with a 13-6 overall record along with a 7-2 SAC mark. The Cobras defeated the Bearcats of Lander 6-2 up in Tom J. New Baseball Field in Hartsville Tuesday afternoon.
- Junior shortstop Hunter Pool went 2-4 in the win against Lander with two rbis and a double. Junior infielder Jaylen Mack leads the Cobras with 22 RBIs in the season.
- The Wolves will likely face junior right hander Aaron Diaz this weekend in the three-game stretch. Diaz holds a 1.65 ERA in five starts striking out 13 opposing batters.
