PREVIEW: Wolves Look Toward Catawba For Bounce Back

SALISBURY, N.C. - Women's tennis (7-3, 3-2 SAC) continue their heavy road match stretch against Catawba (8-4, 3-2) at 1 PM.

SCOUTING THE WOLVES
  • Newberry is ranked #23 for the second week in a row on the Intercollegiate Tennis Associations (ITA) weekly rankings.
  • The Wolves are coming off a narrow 3-4 loss to Lenoir-Rhyne.
  • The duo pairs of Ish Singh/Rosie Harfield and Sofia Cardenas/Aina MIralles continue to be the most consist performers for the Wolves.
    • Despite Singh/Harfield's recent loss, the duo is 3-2 in conference play.
    • Cardenas/Miralles are on a seven match win streak since losing to current #6 North Georgia.
      • Prior to that match they were on a two win streak.
  • Singh looks to regain momentum after being on a six match win streak in singles.
SCOUTING THE INDIANS
  • Catawba is coming off a 6-1 win against LMU after losing to Wingate 0-7.
  • In head to head matchups, the Indians have both under and out performed Newberry on different occasions.
    • Erskine defeated Catawba 2-5 while Newberry defeated Erskine 5-2.
    • Against North Georgia, Catawba narrowly lost 3-4 while the Wolves lost by a larger margin, 1-6.
