NEWBERRY – The Newberry College baseball team (12-16, 6-6 SAC) will host the Highland Cavaliers of UVA Wise (9-18, 6-6 SAC) this Sunday and Monday for a three-game series.

Scouting the Wolves
- The Wolves enter this weekend on a five-game winning streak after taking five straight road contests. They came back from being down eight runs to defeat Augusta 15-8
- Junior outfielder Donovan Ford has been on a tear at the plate during the winning streak. The Greenville native has had seven straight games with multiple hits moving his average up to .382. Ford is tied for second in the SAC with 19 stolen bases on the season on 21 attempts.
- In the win vs. Augusta, redshirt freshman Brayden Gilson earned his second win of the season as he struck out two batters. After trailing 8-0 going into the fifth inning, the Wolves would only allow one runner in scoring position for the rest of the game.
Scouting the Highland Cavaliers
- The Highland Cavaliers enter the weekend after suffering a 10-8 loss to Lenior-Rhyne Tuesday evening.
- Senior first baseman Cole Harness has a team high and a SAC leading 10 home runs on the season. Harness went 1-3 with an RBI in the loss vs. Lenoir-Rhyne Tuesday evening.
- The Wolves will face junior right-hander Justin Snider comes into the series throwing seven innings in two straight appearances. Snider holds a 2-5 record with a 5.04 ERA, striking out 24 batters in 30.1 innings pitched.

The Wolves will hit the road next weekend, as they head to Mars Hill to take on the Lions. The first pitch is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., on Friday. The Wolves and Lions will follow Friday up with a Saturday doubleheader starting at noon.
