EMORY, VA. - The Wolves (16-14, 4-4 SAC) fell to the Wasps of Emory & Henry (13-12, 4-6 SAC) on the road this afternoon 6-1 in the first game and 11-9 in the second game.
Game 1
The Wasps started game one off with two runs in the bottom of the first and two more runs in the bottom of the second.
After the first two innings pitcher
Lindsey Foster held the Wasps to three scoreless innings, only allowing two hits and left three Wasps on base. Â
The Wolves would attempt to come back with an RBI single to center field from
Yahaira Williams to put their first run of the game on the board in the top of the sixth.
The Wasps answered by adding two more runs in the bottom of the sixth.
The Wasps took game one of the afternoon 6-1.

The Wolves came out firing in the second game tagging three runs in the top of the first inning.
Vanessa Wilson started the Wolves off with a double to right center for
Mady Brown to score.
Kristin Griffin then hit a double down the right field line for
Vanessa Wilson and
Hailey Hill to score.
The Wasps tied the game up 3-3 in the bottom of the first.
Cassidy Phelps doubled to right center for Hill to score in the top of the third.
Emory & Henry answered back with three more runs of their own in the bottom of the third to take the lead 6-4.
The Wolves would answer once again in the top of the fourth with an RBI double from Hill and to cut the Wasps lead to just one. Wilson would come up clutch for the Wolves to put the ball in play and reach
base on a Wasps defensive mistake allowing Brogdon to come across, making the score 6-6.
The Wasps would add one run in the bottom of the fourth regaining the lead to make it 7-6.
The lady Wolves wouldn't stop there.
Bethany Pigg hit a solo home run in the top of the fifth to answer back and to tie the game up once again, making the score 7-7.
The Wasps tallied four more runs to take the lead 11-7 in the bottom of the fifth.
The Wolves would add two more runs in the top of the seventh with
Cassidy Phelps scoring on a wild pitch and an RBI single to center field from
Emily Perry.
The Wasps would hold their lead to take game two of the day 11-9.
