NEWBERRY – The Newberry College baseball team (8-16, 3-6 SAC) will hit the road this weekend for a three-game conference series with the Trojans of Anderson University (11-11, 4-8 SAC).

Scouting The Wolves

• Newberry will enter the weekend series with a 8-16 overall record and a 3-6 South Atlantic Conference record. The Wolves defeated USC Aiken last night 13-8.
• Junior Outfielder Donovan Ford leads the Wolves with a .351 batting average and 18 stolen bases and three triples on the season.
• On the mound the Wolves have got solid production from Junior right hander Hunter French. French has a 3.62 ERA with 15 strikeouts in 27.1 innings pitched.

Scouting the Trojans.

• The Trojans enter the Weekend series with the Wolves with a 11-11 record and a 4-6 South Atlantic Conference mark. Anderson lost to the Nighthawks of North Georgia Tuesday night 3-1.
• The Trojans are led by freshman outfielder Zach Stover. Stover has a .356 batting average, 12 RBIs and 10 stolen bases. In the lost against UNG, junior outfielder Luke Poole went 2-3 with the lone RBI
• The Trojans threw junior right-handed pitcher Ben Smith last Friday against the Bulldogs of Wingate University. Smith holds a 3.06 ERA with 23 strikeouts in six starts where he has pitched 32 innings.
