NEWBERRY – The Newberry College men's basketball season concludes tomorrow (March 2) on the road versus Coker in Hartsville. Tipoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. at the DeLoach Center. The Wolves and Cobras squared off in Eleazer Arena back on Jan. 13, and Coker escaped with a narrow 100-97 win.

Fans can watch the game on FloSports, listen to the call on WKDK and follow along with live stats.

Scouting the Wolves:
•    Newberry (7-17, 6-13 SAC) played Catawba tight on Wednesday night but lost 85-76.
•    Caleb Byrd continued his recent hot stretch with 18 points and four made 3s. It's the sixth straight game Byrd has reached double figures.
•    Devario Sheppard contributed 16 points and a team-high seven rebounds for Newberry while also getting four steals.
•    James Lovorn (15 points) and Malik Joseph (12) put four Wolves above 10 points.
•    The Wolves had one of their best shooting nights of the season against the Indians, making 26 of 48 shots overall (54.2%), 12 of 23 from long distance (52.2%) and 12 of 15 from the free-throw line (80%).

Scouting the Cobras:
•    Coker (15-12, 11-8) has won four of its last six games including a 91-88 home win over Limestone on Wednesday.
•    Mahmoud Bangura came off the bench and had a 24-point, 10-rebound double-double to lead the Cobras' attack.
•    Demar Anderson was likewise a reserve for Coker but still managed 20 points.
•    Joining them in double-digit scoring were Hayden Abdullah (14) and Tate Mulkey (11).
•    Andre Leavell leads the conference in scoring at 20.7 points per game and Coker leads the league with 101.1 points per game. Defense is a liability for the Cobras however as they allow opponents to clear the century mark on the average (101.7 points allowed per game).
