The two teams battled two weeks ago at the Smith Rd. Complex, where the Wolves came out victorious by a 9-7 decision. In that game the Wolves scored four runs in the fifth on rbi singles from
Jacob LeBron and
Jesse Free.
Scouting The Wolves
- The Wolves enter the mid-week non-conference contest with Catawba holding a 4-10 overall record and a 1-5 South Atlantic Conference Mark.
- On the offensive end, junior left fielder Kade Faircloth is coming off a week where he went 9-19 with eight rbis, two runs scored and his first career grand slam in the 16-11 win over Carson-Newman in game one of the double header Saturday.
- The Wolves have been getting solid production from junior first baseman/right-handed pitcher Hunter French. French currently holds a 3.68 era in five appearances with nine strikeouts on the season.
Scouting the Indians.
- The Indians enter the mid-week non-conference contest with a 9-5 overall record and a 1-2 South Atlantic Conference mark. The Indians are coming off a series against Tusculum last weekend, where the Pioneers took two of three games.
- Leading the Indians offensive attack is sophomore outfielder Sam Hunter. Hunter holds a .417 batting average with a team high of 15 rbis and three triples. In the last game, Hunter hit a two-run home run in the top of the ninth against Newberry.
- On the mound, the Indians started sophomore left-hander Casey Gouge against the Wolves. Gouge threw an inning and 2/3 walking three batters and giving up two earned runs.

The Wolves will return to the Smith Rd. Complex for a three-game non-conference series against the Oilers of the University of Findlay. The series starts Thursday and finishes on Saturday afternoon. The Thursday and Friday games start at 5:00 p.m. Saturday's starts at 1:00 p.m.
