Wolves Fall to Emmanuel on the Road

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA.- The Wolves (8-8, 0-0 SAC) were swept by the Lions of Emmanuel (7-10, 0-0 CC) in their double header this afternoon. They fell in the first game 4-2 and 3-2 in the second game.

Game 1
The Lions started it off in the first inning with two runs and the Wolves, Vanessa Wilson, answered with a homerun to centerfield for her and Sierra Brogdon to score.
The Lions added two more runs in the fourth inning. The Wolves battled but the Lions took game one 4-2.

Game 1 Leaders
  • Sierra Brogdon went three for four at the plate with three singles.
  • Vanessa Wilson went two for three at the plate with a two-run homerun.

Game 2
The Wolves had a slow start in game two until the fourth inning when they tied the game 1-1. Sierra Brogdon reached on a fielder's choice. Hailey Hill reached first on an error by the Lions shortstop, and Brogdon advanced to second. Vanessa Wilson then singled to right field for runners to advance and Brogdon scored.
In the top of the sixth, Hailey Hill hit a sacrifice bunt for Brogdon to advance to second and Tori Rose went to third. Vanessa Wilson then singled to second base for Rose to score to put the Wolves up 2-1.
The Wolves held the lead until the bottom of the seventh where the Lions added two more runs to take game two 3-2 on a walk off fashion.

Game 2 Leaders
  • Tori Rose went three for four at the plate with three singles.
  • Vanessa Wilson went two for three at the plate with two RBIs.

Up Next
The Wolves will be on the road again this Saturday for a doubleheader against the Patriots of Francis Marion, first pitch is set for 1:00.
