NEWBERRY – The Newberry College baseball team (2-8, 0-3 SAC) will head to Tigerville, S.C. for a mid-week non-conference battle with the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association number two ranked Crusaders of North Greenville on Tuesday afternoon.
The first pitch will be at 3:30 p.m., at Ray and Bea Dillard Field. Fans can watch the game live on the

Scouting The Wolves
- The Wolves are off to a 2-8 start and an 0-3 South Atlantic Conference record. The Wolves were swept by the Bulldogs of Wingate University last weekend at the Smith Rd. Complex
- The Wolves are led on the offensive end by junior left fielder Kade Faircloth, and freshman shortstop K.J. Leshko. Faircloth and Leshko both hold a .323 batting average. Junior center fielder, Donovan Ford had a 3-4 day with two triples, and stole home in the last time out for the Wolves in a 10-6 loss to Wingate on Saturday.
- On the mound, senior right-hander Matias Marchesini had two stellar outings against Catawba and Wingate last week. Marchesini threw 4.2 innings, striking out six batters, and not allowing an earned run.
Scouting the Crusaders.
- The no. 2 ranked Crusaders are off to a 9-1 start to their 2024 campaign. The Crusaders swept the Eagles of Post University this weekend at Ray and Bea Dillard Field in Tigerville.
- On the offensive end, the Crusaders are led by junior first baseman David Lewis. Lewis holds a team high .410 batting average, along with 19 rbis and four home runs this season. Lewis hit two home runs in the 12-11 win against Post in game one of the three-game series.
- Freshman pitcher Brent Stukes started the last mid-week contest for the Crusaders. Stukes holds a 4.76 ERA in three appearances striking out six batters and allowing four walks in 22 at-bats.
