COLUMBUS, GA.- The Wolves split day two of the Columbus State Tournament falling to West Florida in the first game 7-5 and winning their second game against Columbus State 11-4.
Game 1
The Wolves battled but fell to the Argonauts of West Florida 7-5 in game one of their second day in the Columbus State Tournament.
West Florida gained their lead in the first inning with seven runs, the Wolves answered with three runs in the third to cut the Argonauts' lead.
To start the Wolves off in the third inning,
Kristin Griffin homered to left center.
Cassidy Phelps singled through the right side for Mady Staples to score.
Vanessa Wilson then doubled down the right field line and
Tori Rose crossed the plate.
In the fourth inning, Staples singled to left center for
Hailey Hill to score to cut West Florida's lead 7-4.
In the sixth inning, Griffin hit her second home run of the game to left field.
The Wolves held the Argonauts to five scoreless innings after the first.
Lex Glemaker pitched 5.2 innings and only allowed one hit, no runs, with four strikeouts. West Florida took the game 7-5.

Game 2
The Wolves had a slow start in their second game of the tournament against the Cougars of Columbus State up until the fifth inning where the Wolves scored seven runs to take the lead 7-3.
Kristin Griffin started it off with her third homerun of the day.
Tori Rose singled through the right side and Mady Staples crossed the plate.
Vanessa Wilson singled to right field and advanced to second on a throwing error by right field,
Cassidy Phelps scored on the error and
Tori Rose scored.
Bethany Pigg doubled to left center,
Leah Evans and
Vanessa Wilson scored. Pigg scored on a wild pitch to finish the fifth inning 7-3.
In the sixth inning,
Sierra Brogdon singled up the middle for
Melanie Carr to score.
The Wolves posted three more runs in the seventh inning. Griffin reached on a throwing error by the Cougar's shortstop and
Hailey Hill scored on the error. Staples singled to right center and Griffin and
Carson McCowan scored for the Wolves to take the game 11-4.
