ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Wrapping up the third and final round of play at the Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate at St. John's Golf & Country Club, Newberry's men's golf team finished 15th overall.
North Georgia (+11) won the tournament by two shots over Lander. Lincoln Memorial was third at +14 and Georgia Southwestern was three shots behind them.
The Wolves were led by
Tom Hull's three-round total of 220 (+4) in a tie for 13th place out of 102. Hull carded 10 birdies throughout the tournament which was tied for 15th most.
Herman du Plessis improved to 74 today after firing off two rounds of 76 on Monday. He was 10-over and tied for 36th for the tournament.
Javier Borrego Martin shot 74-77-81 over his three rounds to finish 16-over. Rounding out the scoring for the Wolves was
Benny Fischer at 20-over after shooting an 83 today following a 76 and 77 yesterday.
Newberry returns to the course in two weeks on Feb. 26 and 27 for the Spring Bulldog Clash hosted by Barton College. The tournament will be played at the Caledonia Golf & Fish Club in Pawleys Island.
