PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C- The Wolves earned
fourth place out of 20 teams at the Spring Bulldog Clash, turning in a strong collective performance over the final two rounds of competition.
In
Round 2,
Javier Borrego Martin (11th place) led Newberry with an even-par
70, carding a 36 on the front nine before closing with a 34 on the back.
Jesper Gruendemann (46th place) followed with a
71 (+1), while
Josh Greig (13th place) posted a
72 (+2) after a strong back-nine 34.
Daniel Donato (81th place) added a
73 (+3), and
Fredrik Gannon (38th place) rounded out the lineup with a 78.
Newberry carried that momentum into Round 3, highlighted by Greig's impressive 1-under 69, the low round for the Wolves during the tournament. Greig fired a 32 on the front nine and finished with a 37 to lead the team. Gannon and Gruendemann each posted 72s (+2) in the final round, while Borrego added a 74 (+4) and Donato finished with a 79.
The Wolves finished the tournament at +34 (874). Newberry will return to action March 9–10 at the Lander Spring Invitational.
