Both Newberry men's and women's cross-country teams finished in fourth place at the Newberry Invitational run at Johnson Farm in Newberry Saturday morning.
Both teams also had a runner finish in the top-10 as freshman Addie Davis finished fifth with a time of 20:56.8 over the women's 5-kilometer course and sophomore
Tyler Shumate finished 10
th with a time of 28:00.7 over the 8-kilometer men's course.
Sophomore Kayleigh Geel finished just outside the top-10 with an 11
th place finish in the women's race with a time of 21:46.5.

th) also finished in the top-20 for the men.
"They did well, said Wolves head cross country and track coach
Scott Hutchinson.  "We had some kids with the flu and others that were out, so they showed a lot of grit. It's not about place its about time and effort and we gave great effort today and we will continue to get better."
The course at Johnson Farm will be the site of the South Atlantic Conference championships October 26
th.
