Brevard, NC - The Newberry men's and women's cross country teams competed at the 2nd Annual Brevard Cross Country Classic on Saturday. The Wolves' men placed fourth in a 15-team field, while the women earned a 10th-place finish among 14 teams.

Men
The Newberry men's cross country team placed seven runners in the field and came away with a solid team performance.

• Tyler Shumate (Jr.) paced the Wolves with an 8th-place finish in 27:39.99 on the 8K course.
   

• Jordan Kent (Fr.) impressed in his collegiate debut, running 28:03.18 for 12th.
   

• Drew Benson (Jr.) added key depth at 19th (28:12.73).
   

• Camden Longdon (Fr.) finished 39th (29:14.67).
   

• Sullivan Smith (So.) and Braylon Reier (Sr.) crossed nearly together in 80th (30:51.43) and 82nd (30:54.55).
   

• Gabriel Dos Santos (Fr.) rounded out the lineup at 119th (41:43.23).
   

Women
The Wolves' women matched the men's energy with steady performances across the 5K.

• Olivia Hare (So.) led the pack, clocking 20:15.70 for 24th place.
   

• Cassidy Bouchard (Fr.) followed in 39th (21:16.00).
   

• Cristina Calidonio (Jr.) ran 22:01.51 for 56th.
   

• Addison Howle (Fr.) crossed in 70th (22:46.18).
   

• Anna Johnson (Fr.) finished 76th (23:05.33).
   

• Gaby Darazi (Jr.) posted a time of 25:49.78 for 97th, and Erin Black (Fr.) capped the effort in 98th (27:18.61).
   

The Wolves will return to action at the Tusculum Invitational on September 27th in Greenville, TN.
