RECAP: The Newberry women's soccer team faced a challenging match at home, falling 3-0 to Lincoln Memorial University. Despite a strong defensive effort, Lincoln Memorial broke through with three goals scored in the match. The Wolves fought hard until the final whistle but were unable to overcome a well-organized LMU defense.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS:

  • The Railsplitters got off to a quick start scoring the first goal of the game in the 11'.

  • LMU didn't slow down after this, after back to back Newberry attacks, the Railsplitters added another goal to the board in the 22'.

  • Newberry fought back with a nice shot from Bella Gonzales that was just saved.

  • The Railsplitters managed to add another goal to their tally before the first half ended in the 35', 3-0 LMU.

  • The second half was a game of possession with both teams creating offense but never finding the back of the net.

  • The Railsplitters were able to fend off the Wolves and close out the match 3-0.
