Scouting the Wolves:
• Newberry (2-9, 1-5 SAC) lost its most recent game on the road to Carson-Newman Saturday.
•
James Lovorn led the Wolves in scoring (14 points) for the second consecutive game after a season-high 19-point showing against Wingate earlier in the week.
• Lovorn also had a season-best seven assists against the Eagles and leads the team in the category with 26.
• Freshman
Shane Hawkins had a career-high eight points versus C-N, and
Luke Nesbit recorded his first points as a Wolf.
Scouting the Bears:
• Lenoir-Rhyne (9-5, 4-2 SAC) has won five of its last seven games including an 85-78 home win over UVA Wise Saturday.
• The Bears were led by Tay Smith's 21 points and seven rebounds against the Cavs; Smith is second on L-R in scoring (14.1 points per game).
• Jaheim Taylor scored a season-high 19 points for L-R on an efficient 8-of-12 shooting while sinking 3 of 5 3-pointers.
• Nas Tyson, the Bears' leading scorer with 14.8 points per game, is second in the SAC in 3-point shooting percentage (52.4%), making 22 of 42 on the season.
