PREVIEW: Women's Tennis Kicks Off 2024 Season at Erskine

DUE WEST, S.C. - Women's tennis opens their season at Erskine College tomorrow, Feb. 1st at 2 P.M.

Earlier this month, the Wolves were selected third in SAC preseason polls. The Wolves currently roster two second team all-conference honors in the duo of 2023 conference freshman of the year Sofia Cardenas and Margarita Nikonorova and the duo of Emma Arnal and Alexa Gamborino-Suarez. Additionally the Nikonorova and Aina Miralles were selected as third team all-conference in singles.

Last spring season the Wolves made it to the semi-final round, narrowly losing 3-4 to the would be conference champions, Wingate University. They finished the regular season off 16-3 in the regulation and 10-2 in conference play, defeating Erskine 5-2.

Erskine comes into the 2024 season ranked number one in the Conference Carolina after being the conference runner-ups last season. The flying fleet received eight first place votes thanks to returning two time conference player of the year Emma Bentz. Much like Newberry, Erskine also rosters a 2023 conference freshman of the year.
