NEWBERRY, S.C.- The Wolves (4-9, 2-3 SAC) fell to the Bulldogs of Wingate University (8-4, 3-1 SAC) to start the new year this evening in Eleazer Arena 76-51.
Freshman Forward, Alyssa Woodlock, earned her first start of the season along with her first points while leading the Wolves with nine boards. Offensively, center April Rummery-Lamb led the pack with 23 points and went 2 for 3 from beyond the arch, setting a career-high in three-point field goals made in a game.
The Wolves bench continues to outscore their opponents as they outscored the Bulldogs bench 19-10 this evening.
In the third quarter, Jess Tomkins layup aided in cutting the lead to 18 from the Bulldogs with 3:48 remaining.
In the first minute of the fourth quarter, Rummery-Lamb sinks a three and tags a layup to make the score 55-41. Another three from Rummery-Lamb at 6:56 puts the Wolves 14 points behind Wingate. The Bulldogs went on a 12-point run to take the game 76-51.
