Scouting the Wolves:
• Newberry (3-10, 2-6 SAC) lost a thrilling back-and-forth battle to LR in their most recent game, 100-97.
•
James Lovorn,
one of Newberry's Players of the Week this week, led the Wolves in scoring with a career-high 26. He made 9 of 13 shots (69.2%) including 4 of 7 from 3-point land.
•
Jalen Johnson posted his first career double-double thanks to a career-high 20 points to go along with a season-best 10 boards.
• Johnson raised his season average to 6.4 rebounds per game which is ninth in the conference.
•
Caleb Byrd also poured in a career-high 18 points for the Wolves.
Scouting the Saints:
• Limestone (8-7, 4-3 SAC) has lost two in a row including a 103-94 road loss to Tusculum on Saturday. The Saints beat Newberry in the teams' first matchup of the season back on Dec. 13, 67-63.
• Greg McKay led the Saints with 22 points on 6-of-10 shooting with 10 made free throws against the Pioneers.
• Ayden Hickman had 20 on 7-of-14 shooting and made 4 of 7 from 3-point range.
• The Saints are led by Zeb Graham's 17.8 points per game which ranks him ninth in the SAC.
• Defensively, Limestone gives up 37.7 rebounds per game, the fifth-worst mark in the conference.
