NEWBERRY- The Newberry College field hockey team dominated the first half and never looked back in their 4-1 victory over Slippery Rock Saturday morning at Setzler Field.

The Wolves got it started in the first period as sophomore
Lieke Varenkamp put one past everyone including the keeper to put the Wolves up 1-0 with 8:06 in the first quarter.

With just over a minute into the second quarter, junior
Tamsin Bangert would ring a slap shot into the back of the goal to make it a 2-0 Wolves lead. With 30 seconds left in the half,
Emma Westbrook would tip in a rebound to take a 3-0 lead into the half.

Early in the third quarter,
Sanne Pronk would score off a rebound that hit the goal keeper's pad to make it a 4-0 lead. Slippery Rock would score a goal early in the fourth quarter to make it 4-1, but the Wolves would hang on to win 4-1.

The Wolves (6-0, 3-0 SAC), will be back in action Tuesday evening as they travel to Wingate to take on the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m.
