NEWBERRY- The Newberry Wolves Volleyball team will begin their season at home hosting the 2
nd Annual Newberry College Volleyball Invitational. The Invitational will be held in Eleazer Arena Friday and Saturday (Sept. 1-2).
The Wolves will take on four teams during this two-day invitational starting at 2:00 p.m. (EST) Friday (Sept. 1) against Belmont Abbey and 7:00 p.m. (EST) against Auburn Montgomery. Friday will include six matches.
Saturday will also hold six matches starting at 10:00 a.m. (EST), with the Wolves at 12:00 p.m. (EST) against Arkansas Fort Smith and 7:00 p.m. (EST) against Francis Marion.

Day passes are $10 per person each day (children 6 and under will be admitted free).
Students must use their student I.D. to receive a student pass online.
Scouting The Wolves
- The Wolves enter a new season under the direction of first year head coach Kiko Santos. The Wolves finished the 2022 campaign with a 14-15 record and an 8-10 SAC mark.
- The Wolves were voted seventh in the preseason SAC coaches poll released on Wednesday (Aug.16).
- The Wolves will return preseason all-SAC members Samantha Shaffer and Taylor Hall along with three others who have played in 20 or more matches in the 2022 season.
Scouting the Opposition
- Belmont Abbey has been tabbed 10th overall in the 2023 Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Preseason Poll. The Crusaders finished the 2022 campaign with a 6-26 record and a 3-14 Conference Carolinas record.
- Auburn-Montgomery was voted seventh overall in the 2023 Gulf South Conference preseason coaches poll. The Warhawks finished the 2022 season with a 17-18 overall record and a 8-8 GSC mark. AUM finished their season in the GSC Conference Semifinals losing to Union (Tenn.) 3-1.
- Arkansas Ft. Smith was picked eighth in the Lone Star Conference preseason poll for the second straight season. In 2022 the Lions finished the season with a 16-14 record and an 8-8 LSC mark. The Lions finished the season falling to Dallas Baptist in the first round of the LSC Tournament.
- Francis Marion University has been picked to finish fifth in the Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Coaches' Preseason Poll for 2023. FMU returns six letterwinners, including three starters and the libero, from last season's 16-12 squad that placed third in the final East Division standings.

After the Newberry College Volleyball Invitational, the Wolves will travel to Anderson University to take on the Trojans Sept. 5 at 7:00 p.m. (EST).
