Scouting the Indians: Catawba College (3-10, 1-5 South Atlantic Conference) will come down from North Carolina to face a Newberry team that has won their last three games in a row. The Indians look to win their fourth game of the year and their third in the last six, and they will be expecting a big game from their leader in points, Ella McCusker. A sophomore from Warwick, Rhode Island, Catawba's goal scoring leader is also second on the team in assists, so if the Wolves look to claim their fourth in a row and send the seniors out strong, they will need to look to slow her down.

Scouting the Wolves: A third win in a row for the Wolves has Newberry sitting at 8-5 on the year, while sporting a 5-1 conference record to put them third in the SAC. The 17-2 win over Mars Hill on April 1 saw the Wolves give up the least amount of points on the season, and a big part of that was the success Newberry had on the defensive side of the field. A core piece of the defense, senior Madalyn Messersmith (Kent Island, Md.) will be called upon, along with the rest of the back line, to make sure Catawba's time on offense is a difficult one. Starting in every game this season, her presence is felt week-to-week with 19 caused turnovers (second on team) and 31 ground balls (first on the team).
