Scouting the Wasps: Emory and Henry arrives to Newberry sporting a 15-12 record overall, but just a 6-11 mark in South Atlantic Conference play. In their most recent game on the road against Carson-Newman, the Wasps fell 106-79. Jake Moynihan registered 14 points in that contest, while Malcolm Morgan and Marshall Klug each scored 13. The Wasps' leading scorer – Gabe Brown, 15.3 points per game – was held to just six points against the Eagles. As a collective unit, Emory & Henry does shoot the ball well – they are second in the conference in field-goal percentage at 47.9%. The Wasps also distribute the ball better than most, averaging 17 assists per game, good for second in the SAC. The Wasps' biggest weakness, though, is their propensity to turn the ball over – they average nearly 15 per game, the second-most amongst conference members.

Scouting the Wolves: It's Senior Day for the Wolves, and that means QuanDaveon McCollum (Clio, S.C.) and TJ Brown (Columbia, S.C.) will be honored before tipoff. McCollum and Brown have both appeared in 117 games in their respective careers at Newberry, and are looking to end the regular season on a high note. On Wednesday night in Eleazer Arena, the Wolves fended off a late comeback by the Wingate Bulldogs to take a 91-82 victory and secure a home playoff game on Wednesday, March 1. In that contest, Andrew Robinson (Lexington, S.C.) poured in a career-high 26 points on 8-of-13 shooting, including making 7 of 9 3-pointers. McCollum put together yet another double-double – his 11th of the season – as he had 17 points and 10 rebounds. Freshman Caleb Byrd (Mauldin, SC) added 14 points, and Malaki Stremlow (Traverse City, Mich.) just missed a double-double effort, scoring 13 points and corralling nine boards. Newberry pulled down 40 rebounds against the Bulldogs, raising their season average ever so slightly to 39.4 per game, the second-best mark in the SAC. Even more impressive for the Wolves, their 15.3 offensive rebounds per game are the second-most in all of Division II.
