NEWBERRY – Playing their first game in a week, the Newberry College men's basketball team will pay a visit to Wise, Virginia, to play the UVA Wise Cavs on Saturday afternoon (Dec. 9) at 4 p.m.

Scouting the Wolves:
• Newberry (1-4, 0-1 South Atlantic Conference) dropped its SAC opener to Lincoln Memorial last Saturday in Tennessee.

Drake Downs led the pack with nine points on 4-of-10 shooting to go along with five rebounds against the Railsplitters.
• Senior
Booker Cusaac chipped in eight points and a team-high six rebounds for the Wolves.
• On the defensive end, Newberry allows the fewest offensive rebounds per game in the conference (9.6).
Scouting the Cavs:
• UVA Wise (4-4, 0-2 South Atlantic Conference) comes into Saturday with a loss in its most recent game on the road against Limestone last Saturday, 71-63. The Cavs also lost to Wingate 75-73 back on Nov. 25.
• Against the Saints, Carmelo Pacheco's 14 points led the team. Pacheco made three 3-pointers and shot 5 of 10 overall.
• Joe'l Pettiford added 13 points and six rebounds but made just 3 of 10 free throws.
• The Cavs sport the second-best field-goal percentage in the conference (50.7%) through eight games.
